Today I am thankful

for Noggin and it's program this morning that taught my 3 year old the importance of optimism. To "not think about what you can't do, think about what you can do!" For instance: When it's raining, don't think about all the things you can't do in the rain, such as ride your bike or fly a kite, think instead of the things you CAN do in the rain, like splash in the rain puddles, or better yet... sit in a wagon pulled by garden snails!! Thank you Noggin, thank you so much.

My guess is that it was actually the example of his optimistic mommy that taught him about finding the bright side, and that he simply recognized the lesson when Noggin brought it up.

Hope that wagon pulled by garden snails is a success! :)

It IS very good to think of our cups as half-full rather than half-empty isn't it!
Great message!

Isn't it funny that the most pessimistic people walking the earth are adults? We have control of our own time, our own money and don't have anyone bossing us around and forcing us to wear clothes we don't like. Why aren't we splashing in the rain like kids?
I vow to splash more, and whine less!

Mel, I love your blog! I just caught up on reading it and seriously laughed my guts out! I don't think any mother does a better impersonation of their kids than you do!!! Also, so sad they are tearing down your old house!! I have so many good memories from when Shanel and I were able to go there to play or sleep over! Thanks for being such a good mother and example to not only your kids but all of those around you!
